So it FINALLY got warm this summer, enough for Daddy you blow up the pool.  Swimming is great!!  Its almost like taking a bath!

Today I helped Daddy with his music collection.  He let me listen to some tunes through his headphones.  I really like music!

How I spent my July

In a word, WALKING

This month, I expanded my mobility repertoire by trying my hand at walking.   I started by standing in place for a while.  Then I tried taking 2 or 3 steps before losing my balance.  Mommy showed me that I could practice taking more steps by using the walker.  I can't wait until I'm walking on my own!

My First Camping Trip (6/12/09)

June was a very busy month.   The fun didn't slow down as we headed to Fish Lake Beach with our new pop-up camper.  BEHOLD...

 

Mommy and Daddy really love camping.  There were a lot of us.  Let's see, there was Mr. Joe and Mrs. Emily, Mike and Patrick, Mr. Matt and Mrs. Mary, Aunt Kitt, Uncle Kyle, Aunt Becky ~ and cousin James came along too.  We all had a great time!

My First Sox Game (6/7/09)

I am not sure who was more excited ~ me or my parents.  Daddy made me a sign so we could try to get on TV.

I had heard a lot about this 'baseball', and I have to say that I had a really good time.  Although the Sox didn't win, Mommy said that we would get them next time.  White Sox!  White Sox!  Go White Sox!

Cousin Mike's Graduation and I meet the Great Greats for the first time (6/6/09)

My cousin Mike graduated from 8th grade.  Daddy said that not only is he smart, he is a force to be reckoned with on the blue line.  Here I am sizing him up.  I think I can take him....

Mike's mom is really nice.  She makes me smile.  See my tooth?

Daddy introduced me to his Gram and Gramp.  He says that I get to call them the 'Great Greats'.  He also said that I can't have his olives.  Yet.

Its my half birthday!! (5/13/09)

Gram made me half of a cake for my half birthday.  At the time, I had no idea what either were.  Sure looks good though....

Time to get caught up

Now that summer is over and our schedules are less hectic, its time to get caught up on how Miss Ellie spent her summer.  Looking back through the MASSIVE amount of photos, we left off around mid-May.

At 6 months, Ellie started to really enjoy her baths.  I think her expression says it all.

1st Cereal Feeding

The move to solid food is on.....

Last night, Ellie had her 1st taste of rice cereal. She did pretty well, shooting us the occasional look of, "What the heck is this?"

To my surprise, Ellie grabbed the spoon out of my hand towards the end and started "feeding herself". Strong will in that one... (I wonder where she gets that?)

In this last picture we see a rejuvinated and well-fed Ellie, and a happy, but somewhat tired-looking Daddy. Should have had some cereal myself.

The Christening

What a big day it was for everyone. Ellie was cool under pressure as usual, not to mention that she charmed everyone with her extreme cuteness and infectious smile. During the sacrament, Father Mike got a little distracted from her huge smiles. Not sure how you do it kid, but you're a charmer and I hope that never changes.

Thanks to Aunt Katie and Uncle Case for taking the huge responsibility of being her Godparents. It is truely an honor for us.

Ellie is excited about the upcoming White Sox season. When asked if she liked the team’s chances this year she gave a big smile and a thumbs up. Of course they are going to have a good season. They have the White House on their side.

Meet Ellie's new friend. The bunny blanket that she got from the Wengrens is an instant hit. She went right to sleep after we tucked it under her arm. She also gives big smiles when you use it as a puppet. All that AND -- it matches her outfit. What more could you ask for?

Thanks again everyone for a great Christmas. Last week was not as fun as we hoped, but everyone's love and support helped us through the rough patch. Here is to health and happiness in 2009!
